9 Days | Cruising Holland and Belgium in Bloom


Day 1 | Amsterdam, Holland. Arrive in Amsterdam, where you are met and transferred to your hotel. Later, join your A&K Tour Director for a welcome dinner. (D)

Day 2 | Amsterdam. Delft. Millions of Blossoms. Visit Bloemenveiling Aalsmeer, the world’s largest flower auction, where some 19 million flowers are sold daily. Continue to beautiful Delft, a town graced with small canals and humpbacked bridges, and world-renowned for its traditional blue and white porcelain. Return to Amsterdam for priority embarkation aboard ‘Amadeus Silver.’ Enjoy a welcome cocktail prior to dinner on board. (B,L,D)

Day 3 | Amsterdam. Atmospheric Canals. Tour Amsterdam, viewing the Royal Palace and Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), followed by a scenic canal boat cruise through the city’s historic 17th-century canal district. Then, stop at Volendam to explore on your own or take an optional excursion that includes a dairy specializing in Dutch cheeses and a visit to Edam. (B,L,D)

Day 4 | Arnhem. Market Garden 70 Years Later. Cruise to Arnhem where you may choose from two optional excursions. Visit the site of “Market Garden,” an Allied airborne military operation in 1944. Then, continue to either the Open Air Museum of historic homes, farmhouses and mills or the Hartenstein Airborne Museum. (B,L,D)

Day 5 | Middleburg. Zeeland and the Sea. Dock in Middleburg, sleepy capital of Zeeland. Take an optional city walking tour or an optional excursion to the Delta Works, designed to protect land from the encroaching sea, returning via the lovely town of Veere. Later, enjoy a private, pre-dinner cocktail party in the ship’s Amadeus Club, hosted by your A&K Tour Director. (B,L,D)

Day 6 | Ghent, Belgium. Historic City Center. Cross into Belgium to visit Ghent and experience the charm of its historic old town center. Later, visit Bruges, renowned for intricately patterned lace. Venture to its city center of romantic canals. (B,L,D)

Day 7 | Brussels. Antwerp. A&K Exclusive Excursion. Dock in Antwerp early this morning, where today’s excursion includes A&K exclusives. Journey to Brussels for a short walking tour followed by a visit to a chocolatier. After lunch at a local restaurant, return to Antwerp to see the collection of sparkling gems at the Diamond Pavilion, where you also learn about the history of the diamond trade in Belgium. Continue to Rubenshuis, the home and studio of 17th-century painter Peter Paul Rubens, with its beautiful garden. Back aboard the ship, the captain welcomes everyone to a gala dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 8 | Kinderdijk. Keukenhof. Windmills & Gardens. Today, embark on an optional walk at Kinderdijk to see Holland’s largest collection of period windmills. This afternoon, visit magnificent Keukenhof Gardens, home to millions of blooming flowers and Holland’s largest sculpture park. Its 79 acres are only open in springtime and offer an unparalleled array of colorful flowering plants. (B,L,D)

Day 9 | Amsterdam. Disembark. After breakfast, disembark and transfer to the airport for departure. (B)
