11 Days | Paris, Burgundy & the South of France
Southbound Only

Day 1 | Paris, France. Upon arrival in Paris, you are met and transferred to your hotel. This evening, join your A&K Tour Director for a welcome dinner.(D)

Day 2 | Paris. Givern. Monet’s Inspiring Gardens. This morning, travel to Giverny to explore Claude Monet’s house and the gardens that inspired many of his Impressionist masterpieces. Return to Paris for a tour of the iconic sights and a visit to the Musée d’Orsay, to view its remarkable collection of Impressionist art.(B,L)

Day 3 | Burgundy. Prelude to the Journey. After a morning at leisure in Paris, travel to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, to overnight at Hôtel Le Cep. (B)

Day 4 | Beaune. Wine Capital of Burgundy. Visit a traditional family-run mustard mill for a private tour and tasting. Then, visit the cellars of Domaine du Lycée Viticole, a French secondary school where the students make award-winning wines, before travelling to Lyon for priority embarkation aboard ‘Amadeus Symphony.’ Gather for a welcome cocktail before dinner. Day 5 | Macon. Beaujolais Wine Tasting. Cruise the Saône River to Mâcon for an excursion into the lovely Mâconnais region. Visit Georges DuBoeuf’s Hameau du Vin for a tasting of the region’s world-famous Beaujolais vintages. Return to the ship for lunch and an optional afternoon excursion to Cluny. (B,L,D)

Day 6 | Chalon sur Soane. Vintages of Burgundy. Dock in picturesque Chalon-sur-Saône and return to Beaune to visit Hôtel-Dieu, a 15th-century charity hospital. Enjoy a wine tasting at Le Cellier de la Cabiote. After lunch on board, relax on an afternoon cruise to Tournus, or choose an optional excursion to medieval Brancion, continuing to Château de Cormatin and its graceful gardens. (B,L,D)

Day 7 | Lyon. Historic Old Quarter. Arrive in Lyon to tour its old quarter, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This afternoon, cruise the Rhône River and later enjoy a private pre-dinner cocktail party in the ship’s Amadeus Club, hosted by your A&K Tour Director. (B,L,D)

Day 8 | Avignon. Magnificent Palais des Papes. Arrive in Avignon, renowned for its wonderfully preserved medieval walls. Tour the Palais des Papes, one-time home of Catholic popes. Later, take an optional excursion to Pont du Gard and the lovely town of Uzès. (B,L,D)

Day 9 | Senanque. Arles. An A&K Exclusive Experience. Today’s excursion is exclusive to A&K guests. Begin at the Cistercian Abbey of Sénanque to admire its magnificent 12th-century architecture. Continue to the nearby village of Gordes with its enchanting cobblestone lanes and sweeping views of the countryside. In Saint Paul-de-Mausole, see the asylum where Van Gogh was voluntarily interned for a year, then stop at a Provençal farm for a lunch that includes home-grown vegetables. Complete the day in Arles with its massive Roman amphitheatre, beautiful basilica and Place du Forum, where Van Gogh painted Café Terrace at Night. (B,L,D)

Day 10 | Viviers. Pont d’Arc and Gala Dinner. Arriving in Viviers this morning, choose an optional excursion to the Ardèche gorge to see Pont d’Arc, a natural stone bridge that is the icon for the entire region. Then, cruise to Lyon. Tonight, join the captain for a gala dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 11 | Depart Lyon. After breakfast, transfer to Lyon airport and depart. (B)
