Day 1 | Budapest. Arrive Budapest and board your luxurious Amadeus Diamond. Since its debut in 2009, the Diamond has set new standards in European river cruising. You’ll love the panoramic view from your outside spacious cabin. Enjoy delightful cuisine, excellent service, a pool, spa, gym, salon and more! (D)

Day 2 | Budapest. Tour the capital city of Budapest. See the impressive Chain Bridge and Parliament Building, located to reflect off the Danube River. Cross the river to Castle Hill and explore 13th-century Matthias Church. Look out on the city from the seven towers of Fisherman’s Bastion. (B,L,D)

Day 3 | Bratislava & Vienna. Pass under the new Bridge, the world’s 7th largest suspension bridge, before arriving in Bratislava, capital city of Slovakia. Stretch your legs on a walking tour, including Bratislava Castle, St. Martin’s Cathedral and Old Town Hall. Don’t miss Napoleon’s cannon ball all still embedded in the tower wall! Sail for Vienna this afternoon. After dinner you may experience the “City of Waltzes” on an optional Vienna at Night trip. (B,L,D)

Day 4 | Vienna. Today’s excursion takes you along the beautiful boulevard circling Vienna known as Ringstrasse. See historic landmarks including the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Charles Church and the Vienna State Opera. Also, explore the city’s most famous sight, St. Stephen’s Cathedral. This afternoon, is free or you can take an optional trip to Schoenbrunn Palace. (B,L,D)

Day 5 | Melk/Duernstein. Go ashore this morning for a scenic excursion into the heart of lush Wauchan Valley wine country. Tour massive Melk Abbey, a 900-year old beautiful Benedictine Abbey. Travel off the beaten path to visit a local farm family. Learn about apricots, a vital Austrian crop, and taste the mouthwatering morsels in jams, covered in chocolate and fermented in schnapps. Later visit Duernstein, and along the shores of this picturesque valley town with castle ruins and clock tower. (B,L,D)

Day 6 | Linz/Passau or visit Salzburg. Today you can have a relaxing day cruising up the Danbue or you can take an optional excursion to Salzburg, or if you wish take tours in Linz this morning and an afternoon walking tour of the Passau which is located on three rivers. (B,L,D)

Day 7 | Regensburg. Take a step back in time when tour one of Germany’s best-preserved medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See Porta Praetoria, a remarkable relic from the Roman era, the 12th century Stone Bridge, the Historic Sausage Market and more. This afternoon, cross the Danube Gorge to the beautiful Weltenburg Abbey. Built in 620 AD, it’s the world’s oldest monastery brewery. Sample some award-winning dark beer. (B,L,D)

Day 8 | Nuremberg/USA. Today, disembark the ship and you can either continue touring to nearby cities like Prague, Munich or Berlin or take an optional transfer to the airport for your flight home. We suggest you fly home from either Nuremberg or Munich. (B)
