PRAGUE TO AMSTERDAM

Day 1 | Depart USA/Canada. Board your overnight flight to Prague, Czech Republic.

Day 2 | Prague, Czech Republic. Arrive in Prague and check-in to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore this beautiful and historic city.

Day 3 | Prague. This morning’s sightseeing tour reveals why Prague is considered one of Europe’s most attractive cities. Visit the 1,000-year-old Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral, then cross the Charles Bridge to the Old Market Square. The remainder of your morning is free to shop at Prague’s renowned Christmas Market with its tempting assortment of handicrafts, toys and local delicacies; mix with the locals at Wenceslas Square; or relax at a coffeehouse. This afternoon, you may take an optional tour to Terezin, the infamous Nazi WWII concentration camp that now serves as a memorial to those who perished. Tonight, enjoy a festive Folklore Dinner. (B)

Day 4 | Prague. Nuremberg, Germany. Embark. Depart Prague after breakfast and drive through the pastoral German countryside to Nuremberg. There, visit the world’s largest Christmas Market, with over 100 red and white canvas-topped stalls offering unique crafts, toys, dollhouses, carved angels, freshly baked gingerbread, mulled wine and other seasonal delights. Tonight, gather on board your ship for a Welcome Dinner. The ship moors in Nuremberg overnight. (B)

Day 5 | Nuremberg. Bamberg. Enjoy breakfast as we cruise through the engineering marvel known as the Main-Danube Canal, which traverses the Alps via 16 locks. Arrive in Bamberg and enjoy a walking tour of this medieval gem, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is free time to sample some of Bamberg’s famous smoked beer before you return to the ship. The ship departs this evening and cruises overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 6 | Kitzingen. Wurzburg. After arriving in Kitzingen, your walking tour includes the city’s famous 13th-century Leaning Tower, the Old Main Bridge, Kitzingen Church, and the Renaissance-style Town Hall. Later, the Aulic Council and Wine Queen will welcome you to Germany’s oldest wine cellar for a tasting of several different wines and an overview of wine production in the region. In the afternoon, you will have a choice of three different excursions. Take a guided tour of Würzburg showing you all of the major sights or visit the Residenz Palace and gardens, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe’s best examples of Baroque architecture. You might also enjoy an optional excursion to medieval Rothenburg, a beautiful walled city situated on the Romantic Road. Your walking tour includes entrance to the Käthe Wohlfahrt Christmas Museum. Rejoin the ship in Würzburg and cruise overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 7 | Wertheim. We arrive in Wertheim this morning, a town that has retained much of its character and charm. You will have some free time to explore the town on your own. Later, a motor coach will transfer you to Freudenberg to rejoin the ship. We depart early this afternoon and cruise overnight. (B,L,D)

Day 8 | Rudesheim. Koblenz Early this morning, you will cruise through the Rhine Gorge, the most beautiful stretch of the river, passing castle after castle. Don't miss the legendary Lorelei Rock, where legend says sweet songs of local beauties once lured enchanted sailors to their doom. In Rüdesheim, you will board a miniature train that will take you to Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. Explore the Drosselgasse, a narrow alley lined with wine taverns and restaurants during your free time. Arrive in Koblenz in the evening and enjoy a walking tour through this charming town, lead by your Cruise Manager. (B,L,D)

Day 9 | Koblenz. Cologne. We cruise from Koblenz to Cologne today, arriving this afternoon. After lunch on board, enjoy a walking tour of Cologne and visit the spectacular 13th-century Medieval Gothic cathedral. We depart late tonight for Amsterdam. (B,L,D)

Day 10 | Amsterdam, Holland. Enjoy your last morning leisurely cruising to Amsterdam, arriving after lunch. You’ll have a guided canal cruise, a city tour with a photo stop at the Rembrandt Windmill, and free time to explore on your own. (B,L,D)

Day 11 | Amsterdam. Disembark. Bid farewell to Amsterdam and prepare for your homebound flight. (B)
