8 Days | Puget Sound & San Juan Islands


Day 1 | Seattle, Washington Our cruise departs from the picturesque Seattle as we cruise to the Puget Sound.

Day 2 | Anacortes. Anacortes is much warmer than its neighbors, so you can make the most of your time here. Visit Deception Pass State Park, one of the most photographed locations in Washington State. This park's miles of scenic shoreline, serene trails, and abundant wildlife make it a rewarding destination for all visitors.

Town Walking Tour. Join a local guide for a tour of this thriving seaside town. Located between Seattle and Vancouver, on beautiful Fidalgo Island, Anacortes is known as the gateway to San Juan. Anacortes is a thriving seaside town with a past that mirrors the fascinating boom and bust history and entrepreneurial spirit of the area. Join a local guide for a walking tour of the town to get a true feel for the islands of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Admire the extensive, colorful murals depicting the history of the city. You will also take in the town center and the W.T. Preston stern wheeler.

Day 3 | Friday Harbor. From the moment you step off of the ship your senses will be electrified by the intoxicating aromas and majestic views of Friday Harbor. Take a step back in time and experience island life as it was over a century ago by visiting the San Juan Historical Museum. Explore Friday Harbor's diverse topography from pebbly beaches to monstrous mountains and lush valleys. This eclectic town has something for everyone.

Whale Museum Tour. View a mesmerizing collection of exhibits as you enjoy a guided tour of the Whale Museum. Join a docent at the Whale Museum for a guided tour. In the Gallery of Whales you'll learn about the natural history of marine mammals, with a special focus on the orcas of J, K and L pods living in the waters of the San Juan Islands. You'll find a mesmerizing collection of exhibits, artwork, models, and artifacts, including actual whale skeletons and a family tree of the resident orcas. You can also listen to the "songs" of various species of whales in the Whale Phone Booth, and watch an informative video on Pacific Northwest orcas.

Day 4 | Port Angeles. Enjoy the wonderful fresh air, interesting shops, restaurants, recreational opportunities, and marvelous views of the harbor and mountains. The convenient downtown is alive with friendly folks, flowers and outdoor art. Visit the award-winning Port Angeles Symphony and the hilltop Port Angeles Fine Arts Center, a noteworthy museum of contemporary art.

Butchart Gardens and Victoria City Tour. Visit the stunning Butchart Gardens — one of Victoria's most famous and popular attractions. Make your way through the intimate stone paths and streams lined with colorful arrays of flowers and trees in the Butchart Gardens. This adventurous day begins with a ferry ride to Victoria, Canada. On a guided tour you'll first visit Butchart Gardens, then you'll return back to the inner harbor of Victoria just in time for lunch, followed by a narrated tour of the city. At the conclusion of the city tour, time is provided to walk around town before taking the ferry back to Port Angelus. (NOTE: Passengers MUST have passport for this tour as you are traveling to Canada.)

Olympic National Park and Hurricane Ridge. Enjoy the spectacular view of Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park and experience one of the most famed landscapes in Washington. Olympic National Park is known as a land of beauty and variety. Explore the home of some of the largest remnants of ancient forests left in the country. A stop will be made at Hurricane Ridge, the most popular attraction at Olympic National Park. Enjoy the spectacular view and experience one of the most famed landscapes in Washington, with a view all the way to British Columbia.

Day 5 | Port Townsend. Forested islands, snow-capped mountains, and pristine beauty surround you as your ship cruises through the San Juan Islands and Admiralty Bay into the Victorian seaport town of Port Townsend. Explore Port Townsend's vibrant downtown, designated a National Historic District, where you will have access to historical museums, art galleries, and specialty boutiques. Port Townsend is also home to the Fort Worden State Park. This turn-of-the-century army base offers an unmatched combination of natural beauty and historic wonders. Wander the park's acres of beautiful beaches, wooded hills and open fields, framed by stunning vistas of the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

Port Townsend Walking Tour. Learn about the history of Port Townsend as you stroll through this historic town. Founded in 1851, Port Townsend prides itself on its historic charm and striking natural setting. In addition to its natural scenery, the city is known for many Victorian buildings remaining from its late 19th century heyday. Learn about the history of the area on a guided walking tour through historic Port Townsend.

Day 6 | Cruising Puget Sound. Enjoy cruising along Puget Sound, Skagit Bay, and Deception Pass. This waterway is an intricate system of channels, estuaries and islands that make for the most breathtaking scenery and majestic wildlife.

Day 7 | Poulsbo. Located on the Kitsap Peninsula, Poulsbo was settled in 1892 by Norwegian loggers and fishermen who likened the fjord-cut landscape to their homeland. Explore the heart of Poulsbo by taking a stroll along Front Street, featuring old world murals, numerous art galleries, and specialty shops. End your day with a walk along Poulsbo's boardwalk, where you have the opportunity to view wildlife in their native habitat and majestic snow-capped Olympic Mountains off in the distance.

Poulsbo Tour. Enjoy a guided walking tour provided by members of the Poulsbo Historical Society. Poulsbo's long history as a destination for immigrants from Norway and Finland has shaped the town with a Norwegian influence. Downtown Poulsbo maintains a Scandinavian theme, which began during the late 1800s in its shops and restaurants, and is a popular regional tourist destination. Learn more about this charming town on a guided walking tour provided by members of the Poulsbo Historical Society. A stop will be made at the Poulsbo Heritage Museum at the conclusion of the walking tour.

Day 8 | Seattle. Welcome back to Seattle! After a delightful week of cruising, enjoy the sights and sounds of the Pacific Northwest. Start your day by visiting Pike Place Market, internationally recognized as America's premier farmer's market. Visit Seattle's Space Needle, where you will have stunning views of Seattle, Puget Sound, and picturesque snow-capped mountains.

Narrated Seattle Tour. Seattle's downtown public market offers fresh produce, unique foods and handmade arts and crafts, overlooking the Elliott Bay waterfront.
