AMSTERDAM TO BASEL
Day 1 | Amsterdam, Holland. Embark. Welcome to Amsterdam, a fascinating and compact city of picturesque canals. You will be met and transferred on arrival from Amsterdam Airport to your luxury Scenic Tours ‘Space-Ship’ where a warm welcome awaits you from your crew as you board and settle into your cabin. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Reception with your fellow travellers. (D)
Day 2 | Amsterdam. Choose from one of the following included Scenic FreeChoice (1) a sightseeing canal cruise through the waterways of Amsterdam; or (2) travel to North Holland’s seaside village of Volendam, stopping also in Edam to sample the delicacies of its namesake. This afternoon, why not explore the city at your own pace with Scenic Tailormade using your personal GPS device, with a selection of self paced tours including the Jewish history of Amsterdam; a past and present tour; or a tour of Amsterdam from Rembrandt’s perspective. Back on board, relax and enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Dinner. (FB,L,D)
Day 3 | Cologne, Germany. Today choose from one of the following included Scenic FreeChoice (1) a guided walking tour of historic Cologne seeing such sights as the magnificent Cologne Cathedral; or (2) join your guide on your walking tour of Düsseldorf, taking in all the ‘must-see’ sights including the famous Altstadt. This evening relax on board your Scenic ‘Space-Ship’ as you sail onto Koblenz. (FB,L,D)
Day 4 | Koblenz. Today choose from one of the following included Scenic FreeChoice (1) a guided tour of Koblenz, situated on both banks of the Rhine and at its confl uence with the Moselle River; or (2) enter the spectacular lower Moselle Valley to discover the treasures of this beautiful region including a visit to Cochem and its superb medieval castle; or (3) join the well-developed cycle-paths of Koblenz for your self-guided discovery by bike of this gorgeous gem on the shores of the Rhine River. Why not relax with a cool drink this afternoon on your Scenic ‘Space-Ship’ as we sail through the famous Rhine Gorge, with its stunning vistas of castles sitting high above steep vine covered slopes, headed for Rüdesheim. Day 5 | Rüdesheim. All aboard the ‘Winzerexpress’ this morning bound for Siegfrieds Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum where we’ll enjoy an Included tour of the many rooms of this fabulous museum before a cable car ride to the Niederwald Monument. (FB,L,D)
Day 6 | Mannheim. Today choose from one of the following included Scenic FreeChoice activities: (1) take a guided tour of the romantic and picturesque cityscape of Heidelberg including a visit to the historic Heidelberg Castle and baroque style Old Town; or (2) visit the remarkable Schwetzingen Palace, dating back to the year 1350AD and famous for the beauty and harmony of its gardens. Day 7 | Breisach. Choose from these included Scenic FreeChoice tours: (1) visit Colmar in the stunning Alsace Wine Region of France, including a tasting in a local winery; or (2) step inside the setting of the Hansel and Gretel fable on your tour to the fabled and spectacularly beautiful Black Forest region in Germany. Delight your senses in the Vogtsbauernhof open air museum and tantalise your taste buds with a slice of delicious black forest cake. (FB,L,D)
Day 8 | Basel, Switzerland. Disembark. Zurich. After breakfast this morning it is time to disembark your luxury Scenic ‘Space-Ship’and transfer to Zurich airport for your onward or homebound flight. (Please book flights to depart after midday).(FB)
