AMSTERDAM TO BUDAPEST
Day 1 | Amsterdam, Holland. Welcome to Amsterdam, a fascinating and compact city of picturesque canals. A Scenic Tours representative will personally greet you and arrange your transfer to your luxury Scenic Tours ‘Space-Ship’ where you will be warmly invited on board by our dedicated crew. Tonight enjoy a Welcome reception with your fellow travellers. (D) Next Fourteen Nights: Cruising.
Day 2 | Amsterdam. Choose from one of the following included Scenic FreeChoice tours: (1) a sightseeing canal cruise; or (2) a guided bicycle tour or (3) an excursion to the windmills of Zaanse Schans. Back on board, time to relax and enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Dinner. (FB,L,D)
Day 3 | Cologne, Germany. Marksburg. Today cruise into Germany to historic Cologne. Choose from one of the following included Scenic FreeChoice tours: (1) discover Düsseldorf on a guided walking tour; or (2) enjoy a walking tour of Cologne; (3) a guided hike in Cologne’s botanical gardens.
SCENIC ENRICH — Tonight's highlights include a private medieval banquet in Marksburg Castle. Set high above the banks of the Rhine this 12th century castle is the only one in this region never to have been destroyed. Enjoy a private tour of the castle before stepping back in time for a medieval feast. (FB,L,D)
Day 4 | Rhine Gorge. Rüdesheim. Be sure to have your camera ready today, as we cruise through the spectacular Rhine Gorge, with its stunning vistas of castles perched above steep vine-covered slopes. We arrive at Rüdesheim and board the ‘Winzerexpress’ mini train for an Included guided visit of Siegfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum before taking a cable car to the Niederwald Monument. Day 5 | Miltenberg. European Village Life.
SCENIC ENRICH — Today you will be taken off the beaten track as an invited guest to experience village life just for a day - exclusive to Scenic Tours. Choose from a selection of Scenic FreeChoice activities, from baking a traditional German cake to discovering private castles and family wineries. (FB,L,D)
Day 6 | Würzburg. Today choose from one of the following Included SCENIC FREE CHOICE tours: (1) a guided walking tour of Würzburg including the Prince Bishop’s Residenz Palace and a wine tasting in the underground cellars; or (2) enjoy an excursion down the Romantic Road to unforgettable Rothenburg. Day 7 | Bamberg. Relax on board this morning as we sail towards Bamberg. Bursting with character and charm, you’ll enjoy the sights of the city on your Included tour. Back on board, join your fellow passengers for the opportunity to experience some of the region’s finest brews including Bamberg’s renowned Smoked Beer. (FB,L,D)
Day 8 | Nuremberg. Today offers three included Scenic FreeChoice tours to choose from: (1) see the infamous WWII sites followed by a visit to the Documentation Centre; or (2) ‘Tastes of Nuremberg’: enjoy a delicious sampling of Nuremberg’s famous bratwurst, beer and gingerbread; or (3) visit the Audi Museum and car production factory in Ingolstadt. Day 9 | Regensburg. Regensburg is one of Germany’s finest preserved cities. Choose from one of the following included Scenic FreeChoice tours: (1) a guided walking tour including an organ recital; or (2) a walking tour of Regensburg with a visit to the golf museum; or (3) a guided bicycle tour to the Walhalla Memorial. Day 10 | Passau. Linz, Austria. Our included Scenic FreeChoice today gives you a choice of three countries: (1) a guided tour of Passau in Germany; or (2) a visit to Salzburg, setting for ‘The Sound of Music’ and birthplace of Mozart; or (3) visit Salzburg’s Salt Mines of Hallein acclaimed for their ‘white gold’; or (4) take an excursion to the medieval Czech town of Cesky Krumlov. Day 11 | Melk. Dürnstein. Vienna. This morning your ship docks in Melk where you can choose one the following included Scenic FreeChoice tours: (1) visit the magnificent Benedictine Abbey; or (2) enjoy a guided walking tour of Melk village; or (3) take a guided bike ride from Melk to Dürnstein. Day 12 | Vienna. To get acquainted with this beautiful city, enjoy an Included tour of the famous sights including the Ringstrasse. This afternoon explore Vienna at your own leisure.
SCENIC ENRICH — Highlights include a glass of Austrian Sekt at the majestic Palais Liechtenstein followed by an enchanting private Viennese evening concert featuring the music of Strauss and Mozart. The Palais is also known as the Garden Palace and it reveals fascinating insights into 400 years of artistic patronage and is where the Prince of Liechtenstein showcases his privately owned art collection. Day 13 | Vienna. Today choose your included Scenic FreeChoice tour: (1) a guided tour of Schönbrunn Palace; or (2) an excursion to the Slovakian capital of Bratislava; or (3) a visit to the world renowned Spanish Riding School for a guided tour or witness the famous Lipizzaner Stallions perfecting their skills during their morning exercise program (not available for all departure dates). Day 14 | Budapest, Hungary. Choose from one of the following included Scenic FreeChoice tours: (1) discover the highlights of both Buda and Pest during a guided city tour; or (2) relax in the Thermal Baths and Spa; or (3) explore the labyrinths of the Cave Hospital; or (4) take an excursion to the Skanzen Open Air Museum. Day 15 | Budapest. After breakfast this morning it is time to farewell your fellow passengers and disembark your cruise. Our Scenic Tours Representative will take you to the airport. (FB)
