PARIS TO BORDEAUX

Day 1 | Paris, France.
On arrival into Paris be met and transferred* from the airport to your centrally located hotel. Overnight Special Stay: Paris

Day 2 | Paris. Bordeaux. Embark. Board the ultra-fast TGV train today for your journey to Bordeaux. On arrival, be met and transferred to the luxurious Scenic Diamond to cruise the Bordeaux region. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Reception on board. (FB,D)

Day 3 | Bordeaux. Cadillac. Enjoy a relaxing morning of cruising bound for the historic port of Cadillac. On arrival, choose from a selection of included Scenic FreeChoice activities including a guided walking tour taking in all the key sights to discover the importance of this village, originally established in the 13th Century. Day 4 | Cadillac. Today we venture off river and into Bordeaux’s historic sub-region of Graves, famed for the production of all three of Bordeaux’s main wine types - reds, dry whites and sweet wines. Of the villages that the Graves area encompasses, we’ll be invited for a tasting of the famous Sauternes in the delightful region of the same name. An area most notably known for the production of their sweet desert wines, the wines from this region are among the most prestigious vintages in this category of viticulture. (FB,L,D)

Day 5 | Cadillac. Libourne. On the confluence of the Dordogne and Isle Rivers, we’ll cruise this morning to Libourne, a beautiful 13th Century commune. Highlights of our Included touring this afternoon will be an excursion to the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage location of Saint-Émilion, home to a magnificent medieval old town. (FB,L,D)

Day 6 | Libourne. Blaye. Your selection of included Scenic FreeChoice touring activities this morning will offer you a variety of experiences to explore more of this unique and wonderful Aquitaine region of south western France including an excursion to an ever popular region boasting historic towns, cultural diversity and heritage sites in harmony with the beautiful natural surrounds. Day 7 | Blaye. The largest estuary in western Europe, the Gironde is formed from the meeting of both the Dordogne and Garonne Rivers that you will have spent the previous days of your cruise enjoying. Situated on the northern shore of the estuary is the renowned centre of Blaye, a spectacularly preserved historic centre adorned with UNESCO sites to impress even the most discerning traveller. With a climate supportive of the regions proximity to the ocean, the diversity of attractions available via your selection of included Scenic FreeChoice today is sure to delight. And this evening, enjoy your central docking location in Blaye to perhaps step ashore after a delectable dinner on board for a moonlit stroll. (FB,L,D)

Day 8 | Blaye. Pauilla. Blaye’s location on the Gironde estuary is no mistake, but more a strategically established fortification to protect the Bordeaux region from enemy invasions via the Bay of Biscay. Your included Scenic FreeChoice activities today will provide opportunities for guests of all interests to discover more of the historic origins and architecture of this exceptional river-side town, or to explore the region including activities for the more adventurous. An afternoon of cruising will carry us past the islands scattered through the 80km long estuary enroute to Pauillac. Day 9 | Pauillac. Bordeaux. Equally impressive are the many sites dotted along the left bank of the mighty Gironde estuary, including the world renowned Médoc wine region, home to around 1500 vineyards and owing its economic success to the production of red wine. This morning we’ll enjoy a wine tasting of the delicious varietals of the regions most famous export followed by an afternoon of leisurely cruising through this lovely region. (FB,L,D)

Day 10 | Bordeaux. Whilst most notably renowned for its magnificent wines, Bordeaux has so much more to offer! Today is yours to explore the area when choosing one of your included Scenic FreeChoice options. Learn more of the non-viticulture industry of the region, you may prefer to spend a full day discovering more of the natural attractions of the region, and for some there’s a more active range of activities from which to choose. In one of France’s most popular regions, however you choose to spend your time a memorable day is assured. After dinner on board this evening why not take advantage of our central docking location and step ashore for a stroll through France’s ninth largest city by night. (FB,L,D)

Day 11 | Bordeaux. The UNESCO World Heritage city of Bordeaux is a mesmerising and atmospheric centre where historic heritage blends seamlessly with modernity. Your Included city tour this morning will introduce you to the captivating story of this remarkable city and her many attractions including the many sites that lead to the city being added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. This afternoon is yours to explore at leisure. Whether you choose to enjoy shopping in the many Bordeaux boutiques, or wander the riverside promenade, however you choose to spend you’re afternoon you’ll take away memories that will stay with you a lifetime. Day 12 | Bordeaux. Disembark. Disembark your cruise after breakfast this morning for your transfer to Bordeaux airport for your onward or homebound flight. (FB)
