Board your luxurious Scenic Space-Ship in the old Roman town of Tarascon for your cruise along the Rhône and Saône rivers over eight glorious days. With its picturesque villages, and beautiful towns, you’ll drift through a land of resplendent castles and awe-inspiring cathedrals before arriving in Paris, the 'city of light'.

Day 1 | Nice, France. Tarascon. Embark. Transfer to the former Roman town of Tarascon, where you’ll be welcomed aboard your luxurious Scenic Space-Ship. Tonight you can look forward to a rousing welcome reception. Transfers from Nice or Marseille Airports are included. (Please schedule flights to arrive by 12.30). (D)

Day 2 | Tarascon. Avignon. Tarascon has a distinctly medieval character and an impressive castle. Back on board, perhaps join a culinary lesson in Scenic Culinaire during your cruise into beautiful Avignon. (B,L,D)

Freechoice. Visit Les Baux, and drop into a local olive farm, or explore Saint-Rémy and the Saint-Paul de Mausole Monastery. Alternatively, visit the Arles Arena on your tour of this once thriving Roman city.

Day 3 | Avignon. This afternoon take some time to explore on your own. (B,L,D)

Freechoice. Shop with a chef at the local market before cooking up a storm in Scenic Culinaire, or explore Avignon’s architectural wonder, the Popes’ Palace. Alternatively, take an excursion to Uzès and Pont du Gard, the impressive Roman aqueduct.

Enrich. After the doors close to the general public at Avignon’s prestigious Popes’ Palace, you’re invited for an exclusive concert where virtuoso musicians perform Mozart, Bach and Vivaldi.

Day 4 | Viviers. Tournon. Enjoy a walking tour of Viviers and visit the imposing Cathedral of Viviers. While cruising to Tournon this afternoon, perhaps join a class in Scenic Culinaire. (B,L,D)

Sundowners. Relax with a beverage on the terrace of the Castle of Tournon. Local guitarists will perform an acoustic set for your exclusive benefit.

Day 5 | Vienne. Lyon. Back on board, perhaps take a masterclass in French cuisine in Scenic Culinaire, or simply relax and view the beautiful vistas as you cruise to Lyon. (B,L,D)

Freechoice. Take a walking tour of Vienne including a visit to the Roman amphitheatre and uncover the history of this quaint riverside town, once conquered by Julius Caesar. Alternatively, join your local guide for a cycling tour.

Day 6 | Lyon. Awake today in Lyon, the gastronomic heart of France. Scenic Culinaire is available this afternoon. Learn how to cook a regional delicacy on board with our local experts. (B,L,D)

Freechoice. Walk Lyon’s hidden traboules, and visit Notre Dame Basilica with fabulous views of the city. Alternatively, walk the cobblestone paths in the medieval hilltop town of Pérouges, or join a guided bike ride to Lyon’s Botanical Gardens and Zoo.

Day 7 | Mâcon. Chalon-sur-Saône. Perhaps join a lesson in Scenic Culinaire or simply soak in the landscapes of the famous Burgundy region, straddling the shores of the Saône River as you spend a leisurely afternoon cruising to Chalon-sur-Saône. (B,L,D)

Freechoice. Travel to the ‘Golden Stone’ region of Beaujolais, where you’ll enjoy a tasting of the region’s delicious wines. Alternatively, explore charming Cluny, built around the great Benedictine Abbey.

Day 8 | Chalon-sur-Saône. Disembark. Paris. After breakfast, drive through the beautiful Île-de-France region to Paris where you’ll be staying in one of the city’s luxury hotels. (B)

Day 9 | Paris. After breakfast it’s time to bid a fond adieu and transfer to Paris airport. (B)
