AmaWaterways decided to throw their hat — er, that is, their own megaship — into the ring. And, for good reason! AmaWaterways and its ships have led the river cruise industry in design innovations for a number of years now and garner almost every top consumer award for design, service and, of course, for their incredible cuisine. The AmaMagna is the brainchild of Rudi Schreiner, Co-owner and Founder of AmaWaterways. According to Rudi, “I’ve had this unique ship on my mind for many years and am confident that now is the time to introduce my vision.” That vision will become a reality when AmaMagna makes her debut on the Danube River in May 2019. |

Choices, choices, and more choices. The explosive expansion and popularity of river cruising is one of the most remarkable travel industry growth stories of the last 7+ years. In recent years we have seen as many as 20 new ships entering service each year. Now, for the first time in about five years, there is a brief pause in construction with only about ten new — or completely rebuilt — ships entering service. But, these 10+ ships are exceptional to say the least! |

Launched in March 2011, Uniworld’s “Super Ship” is a full-bodied river ship some 443 feet in length, but her “SS” designation is less about her girth and more about enjoying the luxurious appointments, spacious accommodations, extraordinary cuisine and personal service. Guy Young, President of Uniworld, made this observation, “What began as an inspiration, a dream without limitations, has become the ship you’ll never forget.” He is so right. You’ll see why, as we count the ways... |
Have you ever looked at a word, known what it meant, frequently used it, but were not quite sure of its current context? I have. As we put this article together, that word was “inspired.” We pulled out our old Webster’s unabridged dictionary, and “the light went on.” Besides inspired, the other two most relevant words we came up with were “brilliant” and “creative.” We then completely understood why Avalon Waterways chose “inspiring” to primarily describe the extraordinary features to be found on their newest ship, the Avalon Panorama.> |
